US unmanned aircraft hit 1 million combat hours

The US Air Force just announced a milestone in modern warfare 14 years in the making – remote controlled drones have logged over 1 million combat hours.

Man, just think about all the lives snuffed out by some soldier sitting behind a computer screen. No wait, don’t do that! That’s just awful.

Plus, if you start thinking about the real-world repercussions of remote controlled warfare – like how these bombs don’t differentiate between babies and bad guys – then you’ve negated the entire dehumanizing process so vital to institutionalized violence.

And where would we be if armed combatants started viewing their targets as real people with families and loved ones? Oh right… we’d have world peace.
