Make Cops Wear Cameras

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

Imagine if cops had to wear cameras where the video is streamed to a public database. How would they act with an unblinking and unbiased witness forever leaving them open to the people’s scrutiny?

Here’s my prediction: there would be less abuse of power. Police misconduct happens when they know they can get away with it. But under and ever-present eye to watch them, they’ll find it much harder to abuse the authority they’ve been entrusted with. (more…)

Bahrain Still Brutal

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

Pay close attention to what is going on right now in Bahrain (seen above), because what is happening there can happen anywhere.

Don’t kid yourself. Disgusting scenes of heavily armed security forces severely beating protesters and blatantly abusing their authority could very well spring up in our own backyards, should we simply neglect our duty to protect our precious freedom.

Democracy doesn’t happen on it’s own. It takes concerted effort by an educated, empowered and engaged population. When the people get too lazy, ignorant, distracted, or fearful, it leaves the door open for outside entities (like corporations and special interests) to discretely strip the public of their power, step by step.

Embrace your responsibility as a co-creator of a new, more just global civilization. Join the millions of people who’ve already flipped the script from passive to active, from observer to player. Be part of the change this planet needs – we can’t do it without you!

Iraq Vet Uses Own Spleen to Attack Police Batons

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Shocking video emerged today of a commie-anarchist Iraq war veteran, reportedly hepped up on goofballs, viciously attacking peaceful police officers with his own soft tissue, inflicting superficial damage upon the riot cops’ blunt weaponry.

Or so we’d hear on the mainstream media. That is, if they’d even devote any airtime to these revolutionary moments in human history.

Of course, if the MSM started showing their viewers just how militarized our police forces have become or how drunk with power certain law enforcement personnel can get, the situation could quickly erupt beyond their control.

But that day is still coming, albeit more gradually. The world’s people are rising up, together, for the first time ever. And we won’t stop until the world shines as bright as we know it can.

Deplorable Imagery of the Day

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

Look at the photo above. Note the indifference of the soldiers, like it’s just another day on the job and another teen girl on her knees in distress. What sort of depraved society would deteriorate so far as to allow this kind of disgusting behavior to become commonplace?

While I’ve been unable to confirm legitimacy of this picture, it certainly looks authentic. Israeli news site Ynet reports that thousands of similar pictures exist, and there certainly is a precedent for this kind of disdain from the Israeli Defense Force.

Service in the military is mandatory for all Israeli youth, but who’s there to police these boys and girls with guns once they are set loose on the population?

The answer is no one.

At least not yet.

But give every Palestinian a video camera to capture atrocities and a Wifi connection to share it, and surely the world’s people would rise up and intervene against the institutionalized atrocities perpetuated by Israel.

Ask Judge Adams, The Global Spotlight Could Shine On You!

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

Do you abuse your position of authority? Are you profiting off an institutionalized injustice? Are you just an all around douche-bag?

Well, if you answer yes to any of these questions, besides being complimented on your level of self-awareness, you must also be warned that your days are numbered. See, pretty soon, there won’t be anywhere left for your corruption, abuse and atrocities to hide.

Just ask Judge William Adams. Judge Adams felt like beating his daughter with a belt for using her “fucking computer” and “all the problems they cause”, which he did, for more than several minutes.

Little did the corrupt Judge know, the entire event was being videotaped and has now, 7 years later, gone viral on the Internet.

The judge’s daughter, 23 year old Hillary Adams, posted the video on Youtube and promoted it on Reddit after finally building up the courage to do so. Her story will surely surface over the coming days.

It’s been about 5 hours now, and the shocking video has already hit the news and hundreds of thousands (if not millions!) of viewers. Finally, this abused girl will get some justice she deserves.

More importantly, this should be a huge wake up call to any other prick who thinks they are getting away with their foul shenanigans. It makes me wish every single person was armed with their very own camera, ready to stream live to the Internet at the press of a button.

Of course, that’s precisely the direction we are heading. We are becoming more interconnected than ever before, at a faster pace than ever before! It’s like a great awakening, where everyone’s mind is coming in tune. We’re forming a global consciousness, able to share information around the world with great immediacy.

As larger and larger numbers of people are able to focus on the same thing at the same time, incredible things become entirely possible. It’s like every stride we take is bigger than the last. At this rate, we’ll soon be moving mountains.

And when it comes to injustice like that inflicted upon Hillary Adams, we will stop at nothing to see it stamped out.

Brutality on Wall Street – Stanford Comes Alive

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

One week down, countless more to go for the daring dissenters from the movement to occupy Wall Street. Despite dozens of arrests, the protesters are holding strong, maintaining an indomitable presence near America’s financial heart.

Now, if you’re looking to be outraged, check out the above video that shows police corralling and pepper spraying a group of frightened females.

Ugh, that is entirely reprehensible. Absurd! The officer who did the actual spraying should be fired, and the police department deserves to be sued.

Whenever these badged bullies use unnecessary force upon activists it makes me long for the days when we view the whole police/protesters scenario like a massive Stanford Prison Experiment.

The Stanford case, if you didn’t already know, involved a 14-day study with 24 students split into two groups – half as the prisoners and half as the guards. The entire experiment was abruptly stopped after only six days as the test degraded to the point of prisoners being tortured by the designated captors.

In New York, the same situation is playing out right now. On one side, some humans have taken the role as activists, and most choose to simply exercise their rights of non-violent civil disobedience.

On the other side, some humans have been entrusted with the role of protectors – sworn to uphold the law. But, as Stanford alluded to, authorities will abuse the power they’ve been given.

So what’s the solution? Well, why not pass laws that make it mandatory for every single member from riot squads to make public a video feed of their actions. Put it all online – unaltered –  open to public scrutiny.

Like the protesters on Wall Street are finding out, the 1% who control most of the wealth are scared of the 99% who want greater equality. It is imperative that we – the regular people of the world – push back against the encroaching security state, now, while we still can.

And one great way to do that is to make it really easy for anyone and everyone to police the police.

****UPDATE****

The officer who point blank maced a penned in group of young women and then slinked away has been identified as Deputy Inspector Anthony V. Bologna. Follow the link for a few ways to file a complaint.

Spanish Sit-In Split-up

Saturday, May 28th, 2011

The above video, which shows riot police dispersing peaceful protesters, is difficult to watch without evoking a sense of frustration and anger. The demonstrators don’t appear to have done anything, other than exercise non-violent civil disobedience, and they’re treated like cattle being led to slaughter.

Of course, the police forces were just acting under orders. With crowds expected to gather and watch an upcoming soccer match, the dissenters had to be cleared out to make way for cleaning crews. To hell with democracy when there’s footie to be played, right?

Still, such thuggish tactics reveal the inherent violence in the system. Civil liberties and personal rights can so readily be squashed when the voice of the people clashes with those who hold the purse strings.

Canadian Cops Secretly Used “War Time” Powers During G20 Summit

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

When leaders from 20 powerful countries amassed in June for the G20 Summit, Canadians were subjected to the greatest “mass violation of civil rights… in Canadian history” according to a report released by Ontario Ombudsman André Marin.

Ontario legislators modified an antiquated war-time law from 1939 – the Public Works Protection Act, designed to protect public buildings during war times – to give the police the jurisprudence to arbitrarily search and detain protesters near their security fence. This was done without explicitly informing the public that the cops now had martial law to instill a police state surrounding the G20 summit.

Legal suppositions aside, what really happened in Toronto is that dissenting voices were quashed with riot squads serving as the muzzle.

Harper and his party shelled out over a billion taxpayer dollars for this little shindig. Thanks to the overbearing police presence, the world’s elites could relish in their luxuries safe from the scorn of the discontented masses.

While they do set a chilling precedent, the events that transpired in Toronto are far from isolated. This kind of oppression happens whenever we have leaders wielding unaccountable power. Inevitably this power will be used perpetuate a system that keeps them sitting atop, even if it means using force.

So, now we see the violence inherent in the system. COME AND SEE THE VIOLENCE INHERENT IN THE SYSTEM!
