How many times have we heard these words, most often uttered by someone trying and justify the unjustifiable, like sacrificing liberty for the illusion of security, or giving away inch after inch of precious power for the sake of the nation’s interests – not to be confused with our own interests.
If you’re like me, then you’re sick of hearing this wartime pretense being used to co-opt both common sense and human rights alike.
We are at war… with who? Your only enemies are the ones you keep creating through your actions. Preemptive war only proliferates ideas of hate, and you can’t kill an idea no matter how hard you fight.
This is a war… no it isn’t! If you truly want to strike a critical blow against terror, stop terrorizing people. Quit believing that you are in a war. Withdraw from that mindset… then withdraw from the battlefields.
Awaken to our new world. It’s no longer about fighting religions, countries or cultures. The threats we do face, we face as a species. Cooperation, not infighting, is the way forward.

Crowd Lifts Burning Car To Save Trapped Guy

Check out this amazing footage! Watch as nearby witnesses, including construction workers and students, lift up a burning car while one of them pulls an unconscious man clear from the wreckage.
WOW! How awesome is that?!! Way to go, people!
It’s feats like these that give me such hope for our species. We’re already pretty great, and we’ve only just begun to tap our real potential. There is very little we will not be able to accomplish, especially when we work together.
Global poverty? A war machine run amok? Mere trifles when compared to the collective power of an interconnected and cooperating human race.
Yes, it’s true! A peaceful, prosperous planet is just around the corner!
Corporations Are Stealing From Us

Answer: They subtly manipulate the system in ways barely comprehensible to us, with the end result being our money lining their pockets.
Corporations have countless lawyers and lobbyists tirelessly working in their favor, rigging the economy and laws in ways that ultimately cheat the general public out of more and more money and power.
In George Monbiot’s latest article, he breaks down the intricate details of what could be “the biggest and crudest corporate tax cut in living memory”. Here’s some highlights from his piece:
If you’ve heard nothing of it, you’re in good company. The obscure adjustments the government is planning to the tax acts of 1988 and 2009 have been missed by almost everyone. They are, anyway, almost impossible to understand without expert help. But as soon as you grasp the implications, you realise that a kind of corporate coup d’etat is taking place.
[The UK Prime Minister David Cameron] has quietly been plotting with banks and businesses to engineer the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor and middle to the ultra-rich that this country has seen in a century.
So how did this happen? You don’t have to look far to find out. Almost all the members of the seven committees the government set up “to provide strategic oversight of the development of corporate tax policy” are corporate executives [from major corporations and banks].
Our political system protects and enriches a fantastically-wealthy elite, much of whose money is, as a result of their interesting tax and transfer arrangements, effectively stolen from poorer countries and poorer citizens of their own countries.
Governments ensure that we are thrown enough scraps to keep us quiet, while the ultra-rich get on with the serious business of looting the global economy and crushing attempts to hold them to account.
Sure, the methodology used by corporations can be subtle and complex, but the solution to corporate power grabs is quite simple: we need to make our collective voice louder than those of the corporations.
The power and influence of these billion dollar corporate empires will prove to be no match for the cooperative efforts from large groups of energized and motivated people.
We will take the power back!
Embracing a Global Village Paradigm
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010As we move forward into a new age of world peace, where cooperation takes precedence over conflict, a small yet significant change will take place in the psyches of many people on earth. This change will be in our own personal identity… in the way that we perceive our role in the world.
Being part of One World, the Global Tribe, the World’s Community, means we’ve undergone an expansion to our own identity. We now view our selves as members of the Global Village. We see ourselves as part of the human species, one with all others sharing this giant ball of matter as it hurls through space.
As we grow to accept this global paradigm, being one of the world’s people becomes one more notch in our own personal identity. Along with all the other ways we may identify ourselves – our music taste, our hobbies, our sports interests or favorite sports teams, our heritage, our nationality, our fashion style, our occupation, our education – we also recognize the fact that we are human from planet earth.
While it is just a small step, just one more way of looking at ourselves, it has huge ramifications for our world. As we expand our identity to include being a member of the global village, something remarkable happens: every other human on earth inherently becomes, on some level, part of our own group, part of our own extended family, part of us. So, these people who were once strangers, who were once part of the “Out-group”, part of “them”, “they”, “the outsiders”, now shifts to be part of the “in-group”, part of “us”, “we”, our side.
Now, this doesn’t mean we need to immediately sacrifice ourselves for our new extended family, or really change our behavior dramatically. But what does happen is that number of outside threats, the number of enemies in the world, suddenly drops dramatically. The world isn’t so scary, anymore, as our common humanity reveals itself.
This way, we can move forward into a new age, building trust, building channels of communication, building stronger and larger communities… all of which will be instrumental in the formation of a world of peace.
