An Uprising is Imminent

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

Something wonderful is happening everywhere on earth. A people’s uprising is taking place, fueled by millions and millions of people who’ve awakened to see that a better future is entirely possible. Once it reaches fruition, this global social revolution will culminate in a redistribution of wealth and power, essentially liberating humanity from the shackles that far too many of us don’t even know exist.

The medium for this reformation is the online realm, which may soon prove to be the missing ingredient for a lasting freedom on earth.

With the threat of an upheaval looming, the stage is set for a huge struggle for dominance between the bulk of humankind seeking to be free and the system and its leaders desperately clinging to power. Our world’s tiny yet powerful minority (along with their cronies) will do everything they can to prevent their house of cards from toppling.

This means crushing internet freedom using a range of attacks, enhancing the already well-entrenched all-seeing surveillance system, and expanding the increasingly militarized police state, the end goal of which is to trap humans into perpetual servitude by eliminating all means of revolution.

But we wont let that happen now will we?

As long as we can keep our precious internet uncensored, we’ll be able to leverage massive populist sentiment into real political clout. Instantly interconnected social media is fostering what is essentially a real democracy, one that hears all voices and not just those at the top. And when the system caters more to everyone, what we get is a more just global civilization.

The whims and wants of a handful of wealthy tyrants will prove no match for tens or hundreds of millions of engaged individuals working towards a shared goal.

We are, on some level, transcending nationalities and cultures, expanding our own personal identities to include ourselves amongst the global village. One beautiful and amazing side effect of this great awakening will be the eradication of wars. Major armed conflicts will all but evaporate once enough of us see them for what it they really are us fighting ourselves.

With each passing day, what is becoming more evident is that the only enemies left for us to fight are the violent extremists seeking to hurt society and the oligarchs seeking to enslave us, both of which our species will be better positioned to confront the more united and empowered we all become.

Democracy in Action! – GoDaddy Drops SOPA Support

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

With American lawmakers in the final stages of passing the Internet-destroying SOPA bill, the call to action has never been louder.

Just two days ago, unable to sit idly by, a clever Redditor named selfprodigy posted a message calling for a boycott of hosting/registration service GoDaddy for supporting SOPA. The post quickly rose to the top spot of the popular media sharing site, meaning the game was on.

Thousands of people promptly picked up the down-with-GoDaddy banner. Within 24 hours, GoDaddy was bombarded with emails and angry forum posts from clients and activists alike. Undeterred, a patronizing GoDaddy reiterated their support for SOPA, essentially begging the Internet community to come and kick their ass – which the Internet soon obliged.

The anti-GoDaddy fervor reached a boiling point in a matter of hours. Many major clients, including information behemoth Wikipedia, pledged to abandon GoDaddy if their stance were not reversed.

Facing such an overwhelming response, GoDaddy finally capitulated to the public, announcing they will be dropping their support for SOPA. A victory for the masses!

Given such a resounding success, activists have set their sights on other pro-SOPA businesses. A crowdsourced list is being hashed out right now, containing names and contact info of hundreds of other companies still supporting the draconian SOPA bill.

What a remarkable phenomenon we are witnessing – real democracy in action. Regular people, united behind the same cause, are mobilizing and taking immediate action to hit big business where it hurts the most – in the pocketbooks.

This Internet-enabled activism is something we will be seeing more of, and is one reason why I am such an optimist. Amazing things are going to happen to our world in a very short period of time as the world’s people come together to snuff out injustices wherever they lie.

Port Truckers Support Occupy’s Agenda

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Mission accomplished yesterday as the Occupy movement successfully shut down three West Coast ports! Nice work… and the milestones will only get bigger from here on in.

Given that port workers will immediately feel the impact of the temporary disruption, one might wonder how they feel about the mass protests. So let’s hear what they have to say!

In a compelling open letter written on behalf of workers from the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle, Tacoma, New York and New Jersey, the elected commission had this to say:

We are inspired that a non-violent democratic movement that insists on basic economic fairness is capturing the hearts and minds of so many working people. Thank you “99 Percenters” for hearing our call for justice. We are humbled and overwhelmed by recent attention. Normally we are invisible.

The authors went on to explain their reasons for supporting a people’s uprising, stemming mostly from their own low pay and exploitative work conditions:

We love being behind the wheel. We are proud of the work we do to keep America’s economy moving. But we feel humiliated when we receive paychecks that suggest we work part time at a fast-food counter. Especially when we work an average of 60 or more hours a week, away from our families.

There are no restrooms for drivers. We keep empty bottles in our cabs. Plastic bags too. We feel like dogs. An Oakland driver was recently banned from the terminal because he was spied relieving himself behind a container. Neither the port, nor the terminal operators or anyone in the industry thinks it is their responsibility to provide humane and hygienic facilities for us. It is absolutely horrible for drivers who are women, who risk infection when they try to hold it until they can find a place to go.

The companies demand we cut corners to compete. It makes our roads less safe. When we try to blow the whistle about skipped inspections, faulty equipment, or falsified logs, then we are “starved out.” That means we are either fired outright, or more likely, we never get dispatched to haul a load again.

In closing, the port trucker’s reiterate how, at the very core of their problems lies the same motivation behind the entire occupy movement:

Nowadays greedy corporations are treated as “people” while the politicians they bankroll cast union members who try to improve their workplaces as “thugs.” But we believe in the power and potential behind a truly united 99%. We are fighting like mad to overcome our exploitation, so please, stick by us.

The world is finally awakening to see the position we have been pushed into, step by step, by an overbearing ruling class seeking to deepen their own pockets at the expense of the rest of the population. No more! The winds of change are blowing. Soon, the giant house of cards will come crashing down, and from the rubble will emerge a more just civilization.

Not All One Percenters Fear the Uprising

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

It can be easy to label every rich person as a tyrannical scrooge type pinching every penny, but it’s simply not true. Most multi-millionaires and billionaires don’t fear the Occupy movement or the impending redistribution of wealth. A lot of them, when asked, said they’d be willing to pay more in taxes. Some, like Warren Buffet, even go so far as to deliver eloquent speeches pleading for us to do so.

But there are a select few of the super-rich who tow the line for the rest of the financially fortunate. These individuals (and their cronies and paid-for politicians) are the ones responsible for a system-wide shift which has incrementally stripped entire populations of wealth and power.

It is this minority of the 1% – those with an insatiable greed – who must be reigned in. Not only do they need to be held accountable, steps must be taken to prevent others from doing the same. Whether it’s through public awareness or regulation, the processes by which today’s oligarchs have amassed their dangerous concentrations of power needs to be disrupted.

This won’t happen without a fight, which is why we have to rise up. But in the end, the majority of the super-rich will capitulate and cooperate without too much of a fight, so long as they get to remain amongst the wealthiest people on earth.

The Revolution Hits Russia

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Well, it’s official. The great awakening – the process by which the world’s people will come together as one to reclaim control of the planet – has successfully touched down in the great Mother Russia. Fifty thousand people were out in the streets protesting, and this only the starting point.

In honor of the Russian people embracing their roles as co-creators of an emerging global village, here’s a tribute to their impressive 140% voter turnout. Na Zdorovie, comrades!

Iceland: Beating the Drums of Freedom Once Again

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

The plucky little island in the North Atlantic ocean – Iceland – is once again showing the rest of the world how an engaged and empowered population should behave.

You might recall how, earlier this year, Icelanders stuck it to the mega-banks and drafted a new people-first constitution. Or how, as of last week, they became the first European nation to acknowledge the State of Palestine.

So what are these champions of freedom up to now? Well, they’ve arrested the ex-CEO of one of their failed banks, along with a top trader and broker.

Finally, some heads might figuratively roll for the over $80 Billion debt left behind from the collapse of Iceland’s three biggest commercial banks. What a refreshing change of pace from what we see in America, where banks directly hire police to suppress the well-earned scorn of the public.

Take note, people of the world. When we work together, we can take on these giant institutions. Be the change we need, and get involved in the movement towards a brighter future.

The Movement Won’t Stop

Monday, November 14th, 2011

Just because armor-clad goons can overwhelm non-violent civilians doesn’t mean the Occupy movement – and what it represents – is going anywhere. We may get beaten on, but we will never be beaten down.

As disruptive as these initial clashes may be, don’t be fooled into thinking the educated and enthusiastic protesters spearheading this people’s uprising will be discouraged one single iota. No matter how hard this establishment (and their hired thugs) cling to the status quo, we the people will not quit until the system either bends to our will or breaks completely.

Just the fact that these clashes are happening is a victory in itself. Not for the violence aspect, but for what it signifies, which is that the beacon has now been lit. Something has changed, and we will never go back. What humanity has been hatching has finally cracked its shell. It won’t be long until we break through to fly in a world of limitless opportunity.

Look how the discourse has changed, evident with a mainstream media discussing issues completely taboo just two months ago. Important concepts, like income inequality, social injustice and the influenced wielded by multi-millionaires, are finally getting their due consideration in the social consciousness.

Along with progressing ideas and inspiring hope, these protests serve as a focal point, showing us just how many others share the same dissatisfaction with the way things are. Pretty soon, we’ll discover that the more noise we make, the less politicians will be able to ignore us, which would be a great start in the co-creation of our new global civilization.

People Today are Most Peaceful and Prosperous Ever

Friday, October 28th, 2011

If you’re one of the unfortunate who’ve succumb to the reality distortion field known as the 24-hour news cycle, the following may come as a shock to you: the world today is more peaceful and prosperous than it has ever been before!

Sure, the mainstream media’s Chicken Littles are always trying to trick the social consciousness into believing the world is falling apart. But the opposite is much closer to the truth.

Take global poverty, for example. The percentage of humans living in extreme poverty is expected to soon drop below 15% – the lowest it has ever been – and we are lifting people out of poverty at a faster rate than ever before!

Fewer humans are starving. That is fantastic! Better still, and not entirely unrelated, is that humans are hurting each other at the lowest rates in modern times.

Canadian evolutionary psychologist Steven Pinker has pulled together all the data on violence and war from the past 15,000 years, concluding that “Violence has been in decline over long stretches of time, and we may be living in the most peaceful time in our species’ existence.”

As long as the trends continue just as they have for the past few thousand years, a world without starving humans senselessly murdering one another on industrialized scales should be here within a decade or two.

Amazing, isn’t it? The culmination of thousands of years of struggle and strife by billions of people, all unfolding over the coming few years. And to think that people alive today won’t just be witnesses, we will actually have the chance to play a key role in making it all happen.

Yes! Humans FTW!!!

Highlights from the Uprising

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

As you can see, the whole world is waking up. The era of exploitation will soon be at an end.

Here’s a video demonstrating an effective way for security forces to diffuse a tense situation – back up a few feet!

And here is former Marine Sgt Shamar Thomas letting his voice be heard (while intimidating about 30 police officers):

There’s no turning back now. Even if these latest protests do – fate forbid – fizzle away, the lulls will only be temporary.

The movement will keep growing stronger and louder for as long as the root problems remain unaddressed. And that won’t happen until the 99% shake up the establishment and strip away much of the wealth and power from the tiny few who presently control it.

Inspirational Imagery of the Day: This is what democracy looks like!

The great awakening has spread to America. The 99 percent in need are standing up to the 1 percent’s greed. This is the start of something AMAZING!
